Yahoo sidesteps Ghostery
I'm using Chrome and although all blocking has been enabled (I check it regularly for new additions), it fails when I visit some sites, especially in yahoo. This is irritating!

Greetings JdF,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
Which version of Chrome and Ghostery are you running.. can you send us a URL or a screenshot when it happens so we can take a look? -

I'm using version 24.0.1312.57 of Chrome but don't know where to look for the version of Ghostery that I'm using. Can you tell me where that is, and if you want a screen shot that shows one of the pages where Ghostery isn't doing its job or of a window that shows the pages that Ghostery isn't tracking when I'm on one of those pages? If it helps, I'm using Mac os x 10.6.8.

1Hi JdF,
To find your Ghostery version, click on the "?" button on the bottom of Ghostery's findings panel (the thing that opens when you click on Ghostery's toolbar button).
Have you accidentally whitelisted the site in question? To see if the site is whitelisted, visit that site, click on Ghostery's toolbar button and click Edit Blocking Options. Does the site whitelist toggle say "Start Blocking on ..."? -

How easy was that? I've got "Ghostery for Chrome version 4.1.0"
I also see that I whitelisted YahooNews. I did that a while back now because there were videos that wouldn't load if I blocked the news at that site. It completely slipped from my memory. I think I'll blacklist them completely and look elsewhere for newsbites!
Thanks for the help. -

You're welcome!
The next version of Ghostery will come with a redesigned findings panel that will show site whitelist status clearly, among many other improvements. -
