Auto Thickbox + Gigpress = No past shows!

It seems that I've found an incompatibility between Semiologic's Auto Thickbox plugin and Gigpress 2.0 where the Past Shows shortcode will bork & nothing from my Page will display at all (even things that aren't part of the shortcode).

For now I've disabled Auto Thickbox (found here: http://www.semiologic.com/software/au... ), but I'd love to have both. Any help would be appreciated!

I just installed Auto Thickbox on my testing site, and there's no incompatibility with GigPress to be found. I can display upcoming and past shows just fine.

Are you getting any error messages at all? Or just a complete white screen? Does it only happen on the page where you use [gigpress_archive]?

Can you try using [gigpress_shows scope=past] and see if you get the same behaviour? (This is the new, preferred shortcode.)

How many shows are in your archive?

I have switched over to the new shortcode, same result. I do have a good number of shows in the archive (100-120), but I narrowed down the conflict to just this plugin; it's quite possible that it's an interaction between multiple plugins (I do use a good number of them), but I tried disabling all of the ones that modify post content. Anyway, I'll test some more!

I know this is not the solution you want, but you may try a different thickbox-style solution such as shadowbox.

As I noted in another thread, I'm having the same problem with Floatbox Plus.

The only reason I didn't "me too" with your issue is b/c I don't receive any errors, just a blank entry area

I'm going to say this is definitely a memory issue. The contents of the GigPress shortcode has to be written to memory in order to be output in the correct location of the page or post. On it's own that's fine, but the Auto Thickbox uses what appears to be a memory-intensive series of regular expressions (using preg_replace) on everything output by the_content() - including all of GigPress' stuff.

The combo is killing your server. Try upping your memory limit if you can and see if that does the trick.

Try the 2.01 upgrade. It fixed my Floatbox issue.

So turning up the memory on my server to 2x what I normally have it did NOT resolve things with Auto Thickbox & Gigpress 2.0.1 installed on my past gigs page. Going to give Floatbox a try & see if things are better.
