I’m frustrated

postgresql, after a year still problems updating table with pk inet type

A year ago or so, I created a topic: "postgresql, problem updating table with pk inet type". I then got an acknowledgment from impathic that this was indeed a problem. Then absolutely nothing.

Has development stopped with the impathic postgres app?
thanks

Here is my original post:

I have a table where the primary key is of the INET data type

when attempting to change the field "user" (char varying) I get the error:

ERROR: operator does not exist: inet = character varying at character 54
HINT: No operator matches the given name and argument type(s). You might need to add explicit type casts.
STATEMENT: UPDATE public.machines SET "user" = $1 WHERE address = $2

this is taken fom postgres log

obviously the update does not take place.
