I’m Frustrated

SQLServer crash on startup on iPad

The SQLServer app crashes on launch on my iPad. I've already tried rebooting and reinstalling twice. Is there a solution for this?

Can you try disconnecting your iPad from the network (i.e., turning off WiFi) and then launch DataGlass and see if it still crashes?

Also, how much free space do you have on your iPad? You can see this by plugging it into iTunes then selecting the device and looking at the bar at the bottom of the screen. If it is fewer than a few hundred megs, you might want to free up some space and then re-install DataGlass (a couple other people have experienced this problem).

One more thing might be to delete DataGlass altogether from both your iPad and from iTunes, and then re-download and re-install it after syncing. It may be that the actual download file was corrupted somehow.

If none of those help, can you find the crash log and mail it to us at dataglass@impathic.com? You should be able to get the crash log by syncing your iPhone with iTunes and then grabbing the most recent log file on your Windows Machine:
Application Data/Apple Computer/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<device name> or on your Mac OS Machine: /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<device name> for Mac OS.

  • I've tried disconnecting the iPad from WiFi and 3G/Data and attempted to launch again, but SQLSErver still crashes after about 2 seconds. I have approximately 12 GB of free space, so that should not be an issue.

Right now I am working off my iPad as my laptop hard drive just crashed (hence the search for alternative apps for the iPad that might be able to accomplish my daily job, web development) but when I get my new hard drive I can try and sync to find the log file. My iPad is jailbroken, and so with iFile (an app that allows me to browse the iPads file structure) I may be able to find the log if you can point me in the right direction. For example, is it within the directory where the app is installed? Or in some shared App Data folder?

    Thanks for the help.

We believe we've fixed this problem for the next version (3.2) of DataGlass, which should be available in the App Store very soon. If the problem persists after you update, please do let us know.

This crash should be solved in the most recent version (3.2) of DataGlass SQL Server. Please do let us know if you continue to experience it.

Can you mail the DataGlass crash log to dataglass@impathic.com so we can take a look? You can get it by synchronizing your device with iTunes and then looking in the following folder:

      Mac OS X: ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>

      Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<DEVICE_NAME>

      Windows Vista or 7: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<DEVICE_NAME>
    • After a fresh restore to 4.3.3 and re-jailbreak, it is working fine, so I purchsed. Thanks for the assistance.
