I understand that the ahead or behind calculation is based on the number of days in the month. So in this instance, I'm not getting how I would be behind by 46.00. How is that figure arrived at? Also, how come my Monthly Envelope Fill amount is different from the total amount just above the Goodbudget icon? I set it at 140 for the month. Please assist. Thanks!

Hi Jay,

These are great questions! To start, the ahead/behind calculation is based on your Envelope's budgeted amount and how many days are in the month.

There are 28 days in Feb. That means you can spend 5 per day in your Gas Envelope and stay on track (140 / 28). Because your Envelope's current balance of 14 is closer to where you should be around day 25 of your budget period, Goodbudget tells you you're behind and to stop spending for 10 days so your budget can catch up.

You can read more about this calculation here: http://help.goodbudget.com/customer/en/portal/articles/845425-what-s-that-line-on-my-envelope-bar-

For your last question, do you have a scheduled Envelope Fill? If so, it sounds like it might be only adding 100 each month. You can edit your scheduled fill to change your fill option to 'Set to Budget Amount' so that your Envelope is set to full when the fill posts.

Hope that helps!
