"Some rows are missing an amount" error when importing credit card statement

My credit card data in excel format has two columns, one for debit and one for credit. When I want to import the file into good budget I get the "Some rows are missing an amount" error. I suspect this is becuase there are instances where there is a credit and there is no value in the debit row. I would expect this to be fairly common. Good budget won't let me assign two amount rows to resolve this. Any work arounds other than having to do surgery on the spreadsheet?

Hi Robert,

Sorry for the troubles importing! It sounds like you're saying the transactions file you're downloading from your credit card's website outputs amounts in two separate columns, making Goodbudget unable to read the amounts given. Does your credit card's website offer any alternative file types? Sometimes the way the transaction data is organized with one file type is not the same as another, so downloading an alternative file type may put all the amounts in one column and allow you to import your data.

If not, would you mind giving us an email at support@goodbudget.com and sharing the file you're trying to upload so we can take a look at it? If the amounts are indeed split into two columns you may be stuck with having to perform spreadsheet surgery, but we can take a look for you and see if there's anything we can do.
