Add ability to split envelopes and add notes in Envelope Transfers

It would be great to be able to do two of the same things in Envelope Transfers that we can currently do in Transactions:  Split into Multiple Envelopes (in the case of Transfers, be able to do it for both source and destination envelopes), and add notes besides a name.

Regarding the notes, idea, I'll give an example.  When I use a credit card for a transaction, I often do envelope transfers from a cash budget envelope into envelopes set aside for paying my credit cards at the end of the month.  I like to name the transfers in the description as the store I used the credit card at.  It would be nice, to keep my Transaction list nice and clean, to be able to add a separate note as to what items may have been purchased, etc.

Hi Heidi,

Thanks for posting and for the suggestions! I've added you request of adding Notes to Envelope Transfers to our request tracker for future consideration.

Currently, there is a work-around to transfer money into more than one Envelope. To do that, create a Fill from Unallocated. From there, you can un-fill the Envelope you'd like to take the money from, and then divvy up that dollar amount into the Envelopes you'd like to fill. And, with this option, you're able to add a Note.

Hope that helps!

Hi Heidi (and anyone else reading this),

We've just released an update on the Web that allows you to add Notes to Envelope and Account Transfers, as well as Account balance adjustment transactions. The Notes field will be available when you create a new Transfer, or edit an existing Transfer (or Account adjustment), and will operate the same way as the Notes field that existed on Expense/Credit transactions.

This update currently only affects Transfers on the Web; you can edit your Transfers on the mobile apps as before, but will not be able to view or edit any of their Notes.

Let us know if you have any questions!
