Any updates on when the bug will be fixed where cleared balance doesn't match when using the debt pay off feature?

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your question, and thanks for your patience. I can't give you an exact date on when a fix for that bug will be out, but I can tell you that it's one of the bugs we are currently working hard on fixing! We'll be sure to come by this thread again to let you know once it's been released!

Until there is a fix, Is there an easy way to remove Debt Accounts without having to re-enter all data?

Hi Jeff,

Depending on what kind of transactions you've set up in your Goodbudget Household, you may need to re-enter data after you delete a Debt Account.

To start, when you delete the Debt Account, you'll have the option to delete both the Debt Account and Debt Payment Envelope, or just the Debt Account. I'd recommend deleting just the Debt Account if the associated Debt Payment Envelope existed before it was linked to the Debt Account and has more than just Debt Payments in it.

After you delete the Debt Account, you will need to delete and recreate any scheduled debt payment transactions that you created that were associated with the deleted Debt Account.

Of course, once this issue is fixed and rolled out, you will need to recreate the Debt Account from your end.

Does that answer your question? Let me know if you have more.

Thanks again,

Hi Jeff (+ everyone reading this),

I just wanted to follow up on this issue and say that we have released a fix for this bug. The cleared balance of your checking, savings, and cash accounts should now accurately display the total amounts (principal + interest + fees) of cleared debt transactions.

Thanks for letting me know this is fixed. Wish I had known the fix was coming so soon, just deleted all my debt accounts yesterday and re-entered my data. :-)
