Debt Transaction Error Creating

When I create a debt transaction it comes up with an error "THE TOTAL AMOUNT IS LESS THAN THE INTEREST YOU OWE THIS MONTH".

The amount I intend to pay is $114 (fortnightly). The amount due each month is $160.67.

While this is true that $114 is less than the amount due, if I tick schedule payment to and select every 2 weeks, the amount is over the required $160. Thus, it seems that good budget is unable to understand fortnightly recording payments for a monthly due amount. See screen shot

I love the new feature here, but would be keen to get it setup without this error.

Hoping this can be fixed the next sprint or soon.

Hi Liam,

Thanks for sharing this, and we're happy to hear you're a fan of the new debt tracking features in general. As you suggest, the debt features in Goodbudget were originally designed around a monthly payoff, and have messaging and setup that match that design. While it is possible to make payments on your Debt Accounts on any schedule, and also schedule your Debt Payments to recur with the same scheduling options as other transactions, the messaging sometimes suggests that doing so will cause problems.

I've added your request to better support making non-monthly debt payments to our tracker for future consideration. But in the meantime, you should be able to make your debt payments and schedule them on your fortnightly schedule, you'll just have to ignore the warning messaging there.

Hope that helps!
