Do envelopes auto-fill? If so, is there a way to turn that feature off?

My husband and I used this a few years back and really liked it except for one thing.  It auto-filled the envelopes each pay day.  This was a deal breaker for us.  Some pay periods we need to buy new clothes, or tires, or lots of birthday presents.  We need to be able to manually allocate the money each pay day.  Will this work for us?

It only autofills if you set up a recurring transaction for your fill.  If you want to automatically have it record your income, you can do this and just have it put the income in Unallocated.  You can then fill your envelopes any way you like.  I customize all of my fills, but I saved a Quick Fill that I use as a starting point and make adjustments only where needed.  I hope that helps.  Feel free to post more detailed questions if you have more questions when you get around to setting it up.  Good Luck.

To add to what Wayne said above -- if you started your household on one of our mobile apps (as opposed to the website version), it's likely that you got an automatic Envelope Fill when going through the setup flow. This is a small difference that we have to aid setup on the mobile apps, but if you decide you don't want that automatic Fill, you can delete it at anytime by tapping on it and then pressing the trashcan icon.
