Edit/Update Quick Fills

Add the ability to update an existing quick fill instead of deleting and re-creating. If my budget changes slightly I would like to have the ability to update the allocations in the quick fill and save them to same one for the future. Having to delete the one I used and create a new one with the same name is tedious and unnecessary.

If you can't do the update as a strict update in the database, at least fake it. Have a checkbox or something for updating, and when it hits the server, delete the previous record and create a new one with the new values and same name.

I would just like to say that I really would like this feature too! My budget frequently changes (even slightly) from month to month, and having to create a "July Fill" and an "August Fill" or something like that is really irritating.

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for posting! We're not working on a feature / enhancement like this at this time. I'll be happy to let you know if that changes in the future.

Thanks again

This feature would be so helpful!  I've had to change my quick fills several times in the last few months (changes to regular bills, adjustments to paycheck, etc.), and it's quite a bit of work to delete and create new every time.  It's especially hard because I can't update a quick fill until I'm ready to use it, which means that my lesser used fill amounts may not be updated for months after the changes have gone into effect.

Please add my vote to this feature request!

I might be misunderstanding the requirement but if you click on the quick fill entry in the transaction screen it opens up again and can be adjusted. Alternatively can you not just do a simple envelope transfer to put it right. That is how I play it and it works fine.

This only works to edit a single instance, not to update the quick fill for this and all future uses.  For example, if my car insurance rate goes up (real life example), I now have to budget a different amount every paycheck, not just this one time.  Currently, the only option to update my quick fill is to create a new one and delete the old. Also, I can't save the new quick fill until I'm ready to use it.

But if you have your Quick Fill scheduled you just go to the scheduled version and change/update it - that changes all future occurrences. What am I missing here? :-)
I am talking about the web app though. Never tried it on IOS or Android.

I'm talking about the web app, too; I don't think quick fills can be applied on Android.  I'm not sure where the disconnect is coming from, unless maybe it's because I don't have my quick fills scheduled?  My paycheck varies a little week to week, so I don't actually schedule my fills; I manually add my paycheck amount and apply a quick fill afterward.  From the screen I'm looking at, I can edit the amounts, but it doesn't take effect until I hit "apply," and even then, it doesn't save the changes; I have to save it as a new quick fill every time I want to change it.

Hi Colin & Angela,

Colin, I think you're confusing a Quick Fill with a Scheduled Fill? Quick Fills don't show up as a [Pending] Fill, so they can't be edited by updating a future scheduled item. Rather, a Quick Fill is a fill template you can save, and then select for faster filling on a later date. You can read about Quick Fills here

Angela, I've added your vote for this request!

Thanks

Hi there,

I would like to add my vote for this feature as well.  In addition, I think it makes sense to be able to create a quick fill (in order to save and see the total amount that would be allocated in the future) without actually having to perform that quick fill.

That might seem a little silly, but without it, that means I need to wait until I get paid next to be able to plan out a quick fill, and I would really prefer to be able to create a few quick fills in advance so that I can plan ahead.  I'm sure that's less of an issue once you're well-established, but Rome wasn't built in a day and not having that feature is making it a bit trickier to get things going.

For both of these, I think it just makes sense to have an area for managing quick fills -- editing, deleting, and creating new ones.

Thanks!

Hi Jacob,

Thanks for sharing your story and why a section to edit and manage your Quick Fills would be helpful for you. We're not currently working on a feature like this, but I've added your vote to our tracker as well.
