Email Reminders Not Coming Through for Some Scheduled Transactions

I have 7 recurring transactions in GoodBudget however I am not getting email reminders for all the transactions.

I have just checked my email history for example - and I have a recurring transaction titled 'Audible' however I cannot find an email reminder for the past 6 months even though it is set to recur monthly.

Is there an option to set email reminders for specific recurring transactions or is there another issue at play?

It is very frustrating as email reminders for upcoming transactions are of limited use if only some of the recurring transactions have reminders. I need reminders for ALL upcoming transactions.

Thanks,
Kosta

Last time I set up a schedule transaction I had to set up the email notification. It is not "on" by default. Did you set them up when you set up the recurring?

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your reply. For the record I have checked the recurring transaction which is not sending me email reminders and it looks to me like email reminders are turned on:

Sorry, I cannot help then. As you have set the email reminder up for 3 days before then it sounds like a bug. I am sure Support will be along later to help.

Hi Kosta,

I'm sorry that you're not receiving reminder emails for some of your scheduled transactions! We are aware of a bug that causes email reminders to not be sent out for certain transactions. It's been added to our bug tracker for future fixing, however, we don't have an ETA on when we will get to this. I will be happy to let you know if and when we have an update on this.

In the meantime, you might try deleting the transaction and then recreating it. We've had some success in solving the issue that way. However, that too is a bit inconsistent.

I do hope this helps for now!

HI Karisa, is there a schedule of known bugs available for users? I am sure bugs are not a huge issue here but there could be some lurking around that might cause users a problem. I am not trying to be awkward but with you being a small team it is perhaps more important that we all know where we stand with any bugs. As I said, I doubt that there are any severe bugs but knowing what bugs there are does help one workaround the problem - or at least not rely upon that piece of functionality.

Hi Colin,

That's a good question. We do have a list of known bugs, but we currently keep it internal. Rest assured we would not allow a severe bug that would cause damage to someone's Household go un-fixed. And, we always thoroughly test updates to make sure nothing breaks before we release it to the public. Your data and its integrity are very important to us.

With any software or technology, there are going to be bugs. And it's possible there are more bugs in the Goodbudget we don't know about yet. We'd love for this forum to be a place where folks can talk about those things and bring them to our attention. We're also happy to offer workarounds for things we know about, and to find workarounds for bugs we don't know about.

I know this probably isn't the answer you want to hear, but I do hope it makes sense for you for now.

Please feel free to let me know if you have more questions!
