Entering a credit is different on APP vs desktop

I am trying to enter some transactions that someone (maybe my wife) forgot to enter. A couple of them are credits on my credit card. On my phone, when I enter a new transaction, it give me the option to chose Expense or Credit. But on the desktop, I don't get that option. It forces me to call it "Income", then go back to Fill Envelopes, then go to Unallocated, then choose the correct envelope. Why can't I do this on the desktop just as easily as on my phone? The tab says "Expense/Credit" but you can't actually do a credit.

Hi, Paul.  Because of the small screen and the way you interact with a mobile device as opposed to a desktop computer, the user interface on mobile apps is typically quite different than the web version.  This can take a little getting used to.  On the web app, you can enter a credit by logging an expense with a negative value.  This is useful for refunds/returns as opposed to new income.  I hope that helps.

Thanks Wayne! Entering a negative value didn't occur to me but I see how that could work. However, there really is no reason to make this type of transaction be different between the desktop and mobile app. Just my $.02.

Hi Paul - Thanks for the feedback! I agree that can be confusing, especially if you got started on mobile and are used to seeing a button. For now, I've added your feedback to our tracker.
