Envelope balances tied to multiple accounts

I've seen this question posted a couple of different ways.  But it would be nice to be able to tie envelope balances to multiple accounts.

For example, I have an envelope for Property Tax that gets paid once yearly, however I don't want that amount of money sitting in my non-interest bearing checking account all year.  So I transfer during the year to my interest bearing money market.  However, I fill my budget from my paycheck in my checking account.

So it would be nice to have a picture of total Property Tax between what is in my checking and what is in my money market.  As far as I've been able to find, this kind of envelope to account mapping is not supported and is not planned to be supported.

I've seen work around via grouping envelopes and this would be a klunky, although effective way of addressing the problem, so you would have:
Property Tax: Checking
Property Tax: Money Market

Is it possible to sub-group a group?  In some instances, I like having my budget items grouped by type, but can we then group by account?  So it would look like this:

Insurance: Car
Insurance: Life
Insurance: Homeowners: Checking
Insurance: Homeowners: Money Market

So the effect would be:
Insurance
    Car
    Life
    Homeowners
        Checking
        Money Market

I would like to vote to have a feature for tying envelopes across accounts, but I understand this is problematic/complicated.  Is it possible to put in a feature to sub-group grouped envelopes?

Right now I'm using the Goal Envelope Type to distinguish between Checking and Money Market.

Thanks,
-Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for posting! You're right that we don't have plans at this time to map Envelopes with Accounts. But, I've still added your request for this option.

I'm also happy to add you request of adding more sub-groups to our request features tracker for future consideration. For now, you can continue to use the work-around of simply naming the grouped Envelope with an extra colon, to create distinction in the Envelope groups you already have.

Thanks again
