Estimation progress does not reflect start of month

Hi,

I set the month budget start to the 24th of the month which is today, but the black progress slider per envelope shows me I am at the end of my budgeting period. This gets a skewed advice and report as when I add transactions now, it will say I need to stop spending as I am under the progress.

I did refill my envelopes with income on the 22th as rat is when I got money this month, but I would not expect the progress indicator to look at that, as the global setting for all month budgets is set to the 24th. To me it looks like it is still thinking the first of the month is my rollover period.

How can I fix this, as one of the important features I chose this subscription for was to see actual spending progress. I know it can be fixed but for the life of me, I don't know why it wants to be stubborn and not start with a progress indication at the beginning (assuming the black line needs to be at the beginning today not at the end).

Hi Jorgen,

The black line moves incrementally from right to the left to show you how much you should have left to spend as the budget period passes. The line moves independently from your Envelope balance and represents where you would be if you were "on budget," assuming that you spend the same amount every day, which may not be the case for you.

If you'd like for us to look at your actual numbers to see if the calculation is correct, please email support@goodbudget.com from the email address that you registered with.

Hi,

Thank you for explaining that. It became clear to me that the line moved the other way (derp). However in the help of the Web application it only mentions "what is the black line? The black line is today!" it could have helped having your great explanation there :-). In any case, sorry for jumping to conclusions, everything seems to work perfectly. I also noticed the lines were different on year goals and then it dawned on me that it is the window closing and how much of the budget you still should have in your envelopes, if not, stop spending!

Thanks,
- Jorgen
