Is it possible to sync/share specific envelopes without sharing all of them?

Hi bubbawhoo,

It would be difficult to have some shared and some unshared Envelopes since the household budget balances the total amount of money Added into the app and the total in the Envelopes and in Unallocated. If you are on the Plus/Premium plans, the total of all Envelopes plus Unallocated Money needs to equal to total amount in your Accounts.

Can you explain a situation in which this feature would be helpful to you?

We do have an option to hide Envelopes on the Android app. If you'd like to give this a try, go to Settings > Edit Budget > choose an Envelope. There will be an option to Hide on this Device. After selecting this, you will not see the Envelope on your Envelopes screen, but the total Envelopes balance will still reflect all the existing Envelopes.

I hope this helps!

Im wondering about this too. Here is my/our situation. My GF and I both use EEBA for our personal budgets (not joint), however, there are shared expenses that we would like to budget/keep track of together through EEBA (e.g. Groceries, household supplies, etc). We dont want to merge a total household budget (I have my own spending budgets as does she). Right now the only way i see how to accomplish this is to use another similar budgeting tool, which is less than ideal.

Hi jalm1,

Thanks for the feedback. If you're okay with sharing knowledge of your spending with each other, I would suggest just using a single EEBA Household.

Unfortunately, currently there's no way to share just some parts of your EEBA budget with another person. As Audrey mentioned above, you can hide particular Envelopes on the Android phones, but there's no way to totally separate one part of the budget from another.

Hope that helps, and thanks again for the feedback!

I like a similar idea to this....perhaps would it be possible to allow a user to log into 2 household accounts. That way they could log into their own budgets and one they choose to share for shared expenses?

i am looking at a similar situation. I have the main household budget on my eeba, but I need to get my daughter to start using it for her allowance budget, that we would both be able to see and make adjustments to. But she does not need accessing or viewing rights to the households budget.

Does that make sense?

Hi C,

That does make sense. I think the best solution now would be to create a new EEBA Household for the child, and log into it as you needed to. As you noted, this would mean logging in and out of your Households though, which is not ideal.

We definitely love the idea of parents sharing budgets with their kids though. I've added your comments to our requested features tracker, thanks for taking the time to let us know.
