Love that envelopes can roll over!

I have seen a lot of questions about resetting your budget each month, but I am so thankful that there is also the option to roll monthly envelopes over. I tend to divide variable expenses by 12 and set a monthly amount for things like natural gas, homeschooling books, kids activity fees, etc. We have a fairly steady income, but our expenses vary greatly month to month. I like saving equally and keeping it in reserve, but these things aren't a one-time or annual savings need.

The only issue I have is that my income versus spending graph looks horrible some months. Is there a way to add a net difference for whatever period you are viewing income versus spending? I can add and subtract the green (black?) and red numbers, but it would be nice to see an overall net amount for a period rather than just monthly.

Thanks!

ETA: I wanted to clarify that I often use this feature on the Android app, which I realize appears in a different format than on the web.

Hi Anita,

I think I see what you mean. You'd like to see an Overall Net figure for the particular time frame you're viewing. Is that right? If so, I've added your request to our features tracker for future consideration.

Thanks!

Yes! I can deal with occasional red individual months if there is actually money in the envelopes and if my overall net amount is in the black. It would be nice to see that at a glance. Thanks for considering.
