Managing multiple devices

I've been using EEBA for only a couple of weeks, and just added an envelope for my husband's spending money. He doesn't want to stress over how the rest of the money is juggled, so he only wants to view the envelopes he uses. When I changed the 'other' envelopes to be hidden on his android, they disappeared on mine! When I un-hide them on mine, they appear on his! Is there a way to set viewing/access preferences by device? This would be helpful anytime there are both shared and personal envelopes in the same household... probably most households. If this cannot be done, then what is the purpose of the device name?

Hi Tami, thanks for your post.

This is an issue that a handful of other people have reported. The problem in your particular case is that for particular versions of Android with particular mobile phone carriers there are certain handsets that are improperly using a single “unique handset ID”. This ID is supposed to uniquely identify your handset, but in these cases, it’s not.

That means that we don’t have a way of identifying your handset as yours and your husband’s as his. This is why any settings you make on one phone are showing up on the other—we synchronize the settings to the Web service and then synchronize it back down to both your phones.

Note that this can *only* happen between 2 handsets logged into the same household and most definitely *not* across households.

We’re looking to see if we can find a fix for this, but, unfortunately, there isn’t a workaround right now due to the incorrect carrier implementation.
