Many-to-one Transaction Clearing

This happens frequently for me:

I'll order a basket of goods from Amazon, and diligently enter the transaction into good budget, including splitting across several envelopes because the items I've ordered aren't all of the same envelope.

Then Amazon splits the order into two shipments, and bills them separately to my credit card. When I import transactions, I have two CC transactions on the left, and my one hand-made entry on the right.

It would be great if I could drag and match both CC transactions to the one entry on the right.

Hi stoanhart,

I totally agree that would be helpful! For now, I've added your request to our features tracker for future consideration.

Thanks

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Associate multiple imported bank transactions to a single goodbudget transaction.

When importing transactions from the bank, is there a way to associate multiple transactions to a single manually added transaction and vice versa?  For example, I purchase a few things on Amazon and pay for them at one time, so I enter one transaction into goodbudget.  However, Amazon charges me twice, each time for a portion of the total.  So now my bank sees it as 2 transactions, but I've only entered 1 in goodbudget.  There are many other times this can happen, and the same thing can happen the other way - multiple transactions in goodbudget correspond to a single transaction in my bank.
If there is not a way to do this, I would like to request this feature be added to the backlog.

If you have any questions about this, or I need to be more clear with any details, please just let me know.

Thank you!

Hi John,

Thanks for posting! Right now, you can import and match only one transaction to another. I've added your vote for this feature request. Thanks again

Yes please. I added a vote to this. mainly any eCommerce company that splits shipment does this. Now I have another issue I am trying to fix. It would be nice to maybe be able to edit good budget side while in that mode. So I can split up the transaction manually, or change transaction amount, if not correct and so on.
