Multiple budget timelines and multiple bi-weekly paychecks.

My wife and I have been using EEBA synched on each other's Android phones for several months, and we love it. However, I am unable to unleash the full potential of it for our budget. She and I both get salaried pay biweekly, on alternate weeks. We have items like insurance, utilities, mortgage, and a few other things budgeted monthly. The rest of the items are budgeted weekly (groceries, entertainment, gas, etc.). The problem is, since her paycheck and mine are different, these envelopes have different amounts based on whose payday it is...and I can't figure out how to get EEBA to understand that.

So far, the only solution that I've found is to have two envelopes of each category for her pay and for mine, but that just complicates things too much to be useful. Right now, the only envelope that we've been able to reliably use EEBA for is our gas money, as that one is the same every week.

I hope I've made my issue clear enough to understand. If not, I'll check back and provide any answers that I can. I really love to see this worked out so that I can put EEBA to use for the rest of my budget. I don't feel that our pay situation is unique, so I think that a fix for this would benefit many potential EEBA users.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for the thorough description of your financial household. And you've guessed right, many EEBA users have had to figure out how to use the budgeting tool with their multiple and variable incomes.

Here's a solution in which you can use Unallocated money to build up a one-month cushion and bring some ease to your budgeting experience:

Hope this helps!
