Negative Money Warning - After I've filled envelopes with my income

I've "set" my envelopes with my income, and they appear to have reset properly. However, when I enter one of the envelopes, I'm given an error: "Negative Money Warning", or "Time to Refill Your Envelop".  And, I only have red-bars, no green-bars. If I go back to refill again, the amount gets impacted by the overspending or underspending from the previous month. All I'm trying to do is have my envelopes reset for the month. I've placed a work order to the Priority Support, but they are not responding. Can someone please tell me how to simply reset my envelopes for January. Thank you.

Hi Ron,
It sounds to me like your budget and your fills may not be aligned. Did you create a “Fill” instruction (from “Unallocated” or “New Income”) for the first of the month that will “set” each of your envelopes to their budgeted values? And is yours a monthly budget that starts on the 1st? I think if these two conditions are met you should see all green bars with the month’s budgeted amount in the totals. If your available money in the “Unallocated” envelope is less than your budget, then “Unallocated” will go negative but your budget envelopes should still fill as instructed.
Hope this helps!
PS—if you create this now any transactions you’ve entered over the past two days will impact the envelope. In other words, it won’t go backwards to recalculate from the 1st so just this month you may need to tweak some things manually. Going forward it should fill as instructed on the first of every month if you make these “scheduled” events.

Hi Ron,

Sorry for the trouble starting the new month! And sorry for the trouble with Priority Support -- did you get a response from us? We work hard to answer PS emails within two hours during regular business hours. Be sure to check Spam in case our response went there.

It sounds like you might be using the 'Add' refill option when you fill, which is rolling over your balances from last month. To have your Envelopes reset to full for this month, try using the 'Set' refill option. You can see how to fill here. I'll note that in the video, you'll be instructed to use the 'Add All' option, but you should use the 'Set All' option to reset your Envelopes.

Does that answer your question?
