It is possible to add notes to transactions, which is really helpful functionality. However it seems that notes cannot be aded to all transaction types? Is this correct and if so what transactions will accept notes?

Hi Colin, 

That's a good question! You can add notes to expense, credit and income transactions. You are currently unable to add notes to Envelope and Account transfers.

Thanks Karisa, shame envelope and account transfers are not included. Is it on the list?

It's not our our 'To Do' list, at the moment. However, I've added your vote to the list of users who have also suggested this. This helps us know how many people have requested a certain feature, so we know what to prioritize.

I would like this too because there are so many reasons for moving amounts from one envelope to another.  Later, the memories of the specific reasons are too often lost.  The ability to list the reason for transferring an amount from one envelope to another can help one to know when to manually adjust envelope budget amounts, later on.

If a transfer is done for the same reason consistently each month, then it is best to adjust one's envelope budget amounts to better match reality and/or the user's true priorities.  

Doing those adjustments helps one to make better decisions since their envelope budget amounts should better reflect that user's true priorities.

Hi everyone,

We've just released an update on the Web that allows you to add Notes to Envelope and Account Transfers, as well as Account balance adjustment transactions. The Notes field will be available when you create a new Transfer, or edit an existing Transfer (or Account adjustment), and will operate the same way as the Notes field that existed on Expense/Credit transactions.

This update currently only affects Transfers on the Web; you can edit your Transfers on the mobile apps as before, but will not be able to view or edit any of their Notes.

It should now be possible to add Notes to all transaction types on the Web.
