Progress bar not synced to local time!

I believe the progress bar on envelopes aren't synced to users local time/date - My budget period end date keeps changing either a day forward or a day behind my actual set fortnightly date. After some observation I believe its set/synced to the pacific time zone (PT)?
This is a HUGE error for international users

Francis, I have seen comments in some threads that lead me to believe that some automated tasks occur based on Pacific Time.  There is a Time Zone setting in your Household Preferences for setting your local time.  It is not a true Time Zone setting, so I don't think it handles Daylight Savings Time changes, but it seems to indicate that scheduled transactions will post between Midnight and 3:00am local time.  It does not mention progress bars and I believe I have seen other threads where they said progress bars change based on Pacific Time.  Hopefully someone from Goodbudget will respond to that.

In the meantime, as a first step you may want to check your Time Zone setting and make sure it matches your local time.

Thanks Wayne, you're correct there is a time zone setting but it doesn't at all affect the progress bar - only the scheduled translations, like you mentioned.

Am I right that it only works accurately where the budget period starts from the 1st of the month? That is if your budget period is set to start mid-month the progress bar still reflects the position for a 1st of month budget start?

The problem with the progress bar is that it is of little use when an envelope is set up for a recurring monthly payment as it is full (and will therefore be shown as ahead) until the bill is paid following which  I guess the envelope will show as behind or in need of refilling when refiling is not due until next month. I wish the progress bar could be switched on and off, at the moment I just ignore them.

Hi Francis,

Sorry for troubles! And, thanks everyone for posting your thoughts.

Francis, you're correct that the progress bar on your device is not synced to your local time, and I agree that's an error for our international users! I think the line should move according to your timezone. For now, I've added your thoughts to our feedback tracker about this issue.

Colin, the progress bar works on all budget periods, not just those starting monthly on the first day (barring the timezone issue that Francis pointed out). If your budget period starts on the 15th, for example, that just means the progress bar will reset -- or, move all the way to the right of the Envelope bar -- on that day. Hope that make sense!

Thanks again
