Reconciliation problem

On the account screen my Current Account shows a credit balance of £1878.14 and reports a cleared credit balance of £88.79. The cleared balance should be £1993.92 and this is the balance quoted as the last reconciled balance when I enter the reconciliation screen. The difference is £1905.13 which is the opening balance to the account. How do I fix this please? I have tried marking the opening balance as cleared in account view and that puts the account view right. However when I go back to reconcile it says I now have an amount of -1993.92 uncleared even though they statement balance reconciles.

Regards

Colin

To add: I though I might "unreconcile" everything and start the rec process again. Trouble is I cannot unreconcile those transactions that are transfers between accounts. The option to unreconcile is not there.

Hi Colin,

Glad we were able to resolve this over email! For anyone else who has a similar question, you can simply mark a transaction as 'cleared' on the website by hovering and clicking on the green checkmark to the right of the transaction. Clearing transactions will adjust the Cleared Balance on the Account view.

To clarify, if your transactions are already marked as 'cleared', reconciling them won't adjust the Cleared Balance further. However, if you have a transfer that you'd like to be reconciled, try manually reconciling it.

To do that, open up a new reconciliation for that Account and adjust your Previous Balance by the amount of the transfer. Then, you'll be able to continue and finish the reconciliation.

I hope this helps!
