Reconciling Accounts

In the Reconcile Accounts section, can you add a checkbox at the top of the column for Cleared to de-select or select all? It is a pain to have to go through and uncheck 75 transactions for the month when the account doesn't reconcile and you have to go through each transaction. Thanks!

Hi jackh113,

Thanks for the suggestion. You're right that a select or de-select all option would be handy. I've added that to our featured requests tracker, thanks!

I love this software, but it is missing some pretty obvious features, and this is one. This feature would be very easy to implement. Why hasn't it been implemented, when it was first requested 5 years ago?

Hi Warren,

Thanks for adding your voice! You're right this was initially requested five years ago. Since then, we've been working on other cool features. And, because we're a small team, we have to consider lots of factors when deciding what to work on - not just how long ago something was requested.

I know that doesn't help you right now. But, I hope this makes sense.

Me too. It drives me crazy to have to uncheck each transaction when I don't balance first time. Would also be handy to check all in one go first off, in case account balances straight away.

If you're feeling super hacktastic, you can execute this code in your console to uncheck everything and get the account totals to update properly:

$('input[type="checkbox"]').filter('[checked="true"]').each(function(){var tmt = window.setTimeout(this.click(),100)});

Since Goodbudget have done nothing for 6 years on this, a pretty basic feature requested by many users (and I'm sure there are more users out there who can't be bothered complaining after reading this thread), I'll be looking into YNAB or other options too. For a subscription service I expect GB to be more responsive.

I would also like to have this option, particularly the "Clear All" option as I frequently start over, but the "Check All" option would be good as well as sometimes I find my mistake early and wish I could re-check all of my transactions.  I know this may be a lower priority because the current functionality is functional, but I think it is probably very common to need to clear all of your check marks to start over and this would be a great crowd pleaser.

Unlike Karen, I have found the GB team to be extremely attentive and responsive.  I especially appreciate the transparency on these issues and the fact that a 6-year old issue can continue to get attention.  Thanks for all your work and congratulations on the best budgeting product I have found in my 25+ years of searching.
