Scheduling envelopes to automatically refill

I am utterly confused. I want to have my envelopes automatically refill each month to the full amount. I tried to schedule this for the 25th of the month (it's currently the 16th). Now that I tried to set it up, my unallocated funds show two month's worth of budget in there, even though nothing should have been received yet -- the transaction's supposed to happen in the future! Plus, I think I'll still have to go in every month and fill my envelopes from unallocated. What I really want is to have my envelopes fill each month on the 25th. Please help!

Yes. It appears that you cannot schedule a future allocation to envelopes without filling the envelopes right now. The Help indicates that you have to wait until the next income or budget cycle to set up the refill. If so, that sucks.

Hi Erin and marylandgis,

Currently, when you create a Scheduled Envelope Fill, you’ll see one post for the date that you set it for and a pending transaction show up for the next time it will post. We’re currently working on implementing the the ability to post pending transactions that start on future dates.

In the meantime, you can create an Envelope Fill, date it for one budgeting period before, February 25th in your case, and Schedule it to post every month. After you save, just delete the February 25 transaction and you’ll see a pending Envelope that will post on March 25. I know this isn’t ideal, but I hope it works for now.

Hi folks,

Just wanted to let you know what we’ve rolled out a web update that includes the feature to schedule transactions that will show as pending and post on the future date you chose. This means that you no longer have to do the workaround of changing the date to one period in the past.

Thanks for your patience!

is there a way to undo accidentally filling the envelopes mid-month?  I added two envelopes and only wanted to fill them, but accidentally filled ALL envelopes.  D'oh!

Find the transaction and delete it. It is as simple as that :-)

Hey Eric,

Collin's right! You can delete the fill. If you want to just fill two Envelopes, be sure to just select the two you want to fill and avoid using the Quick Fill (add all/set all) option.

Hope this helps!
