Seeking a Lower subscription fee

I have a business background and your subscription price is too high. If you were to lower your price, I believe you would have way more paid subscribers. I would suggest providing a coupon for 50% off.

I would pay $20 a year but $45 is too much. I can continue to use the free version but it would be nice to access all features and not worry about lumping expenses into the same envelope just to stay within the free tier. You could send a personalized email with a coupon of $25 for each engaged budget user (whoever uses it at least once a week). This way the lower price is not publicized and you don't upset existing full priced paying users.

Thanks for listening. And awesome app!

That doesn't even deserve a polite response. You obviously don't have the least idea of how much work is involved. What would you say to your employer if he said, hey, you do a great job, but I pay you too much. I'm sure you won't mind if I pay you half. But good work!

Maybe a pay as you go program would work.  Like a  save as you go account, the more you use the software or create transactions the subscription price is taken out.   I think what Jon is saying is $45 up front is not within his budget.

I'm not seeing where you full subscription price is unreasonable, but some people may have difficulties using your software and be out the $45 if they don't like it.

Hi jon,

Thanks for letting us know how important it is to you to have an affordable budget tool.  We agree, and that's why we've made a long-term commitment to providing our Free Forever version.  (Ask some of our budgeters who've used it for 7 years :).  As for the price of our Plus plan, we set it at a rate that's both good for our subscribers and good for our business.  From what we've heard, Plus subscribers say they save an average of $1,758 in their first 3 months, so it sounds like they are getting a lot of value from it.  That support from subscribers enables us to sustain our business (paying the folks on our team and other costs) so that we can keep supporting all of you in your budgeting endeavors, whether you choose the Free Forever or Plus plan.
