Set default search display. Easier Filters?

i would love to be able to change the way my transaction list shows by default. As you know, if i click on an envelope, it shows EVERYTHING. Every fill, transfer, expense/credit for that envelope. What I find myself doing so many times is going to advanced options and filtering this search to show only expense/credit. My brain just processes this list so much better and if i wanted to see my fills or transfers then i would rather have to change the settings to view it that way. Its just nice to see all my expenses this way and it makes it easy to see if i have forgotten to add something.

Perhaps adding a more user friendly drop down for filtering envelopes maybe? Instead of having to click advanced, then select your filter, then click save. It would be nice to already have the filters in a drop down box  right on the main page and when i select the filter it automatically applies it. My best example would be something like Ebay when you want to search something from lowest cost to highest cost. They have a simple easy to use drop down box right on the front page and when u click on it that filter automatically gets applied.

Hi Ryan-Kristen,

Thanks for posting! I can see how having an easier option for filtering Envelopes would be helpful. I've added your request to our tracker for future consideration.

Currently, as you've said, Goodbudget lists every transaction that touches the Envelope when you drill down into it. That allows for a comprehensive running balance for each Envelope. With your proposal, when a filter is applied, would you expect to see a running balance? If so, what would it include?

Thanks for your help!

I agree. It would be nice to have a saved quick access to looking at just credit / deposit transactions. It is important to see envelope transfers and account transfers, but being able to remove these would make balancing with the bank statement easier.
