Starting again each month

I am trying to stop the role over each month so I can start again at the begining of the current month without deleting all my transactions. Is this possible? I seem to be going round in circles

Changing your fills to “Set” each envelope instead of “Add” will put enough money in each envelope to make it match the budgeted amount for the month (assuming your Fill and your budget are aligned). This may mean you pull more or less than anticipated from “Unallocated” but the envelopes will have exactly as much as you’ve designated on day 1. You’ll need to have a budget AND set up an equivalent monthly fill for this to work. Does that help?

One thing that might help with what Tiffany said is the use of custom Quick Fills (  When you open the Fill Envelopes dialog, you will see a "Choose a Quick Fill" drop-down menu on step 2 (Web version).  Select that and choose "Set All."  That will top off all of your envelopes and keep all of the existing transactions.  Any money left over will remain in Unallocated by default (if you are filling from New Income, you can choose a sweep envelope if you want it to go somewhere else).  Custom Quick Fills allow you to save your settings so that you can use them again.  This is especially useful if you decide to set some envelopes to "Add" instead of "Set".  I personally like to set aside a small amount of money for car repairs and an emergency fund that I add to each month.  I like to carry those balances forward each month.
