Strange envelope behavior

My husband and I are newbies, and so far we like GB very much! However, something strange happened this morning with the envelopes.

Hubby noticed that one of our envelopes was empty (it's a $16/month membership), so he thought he was supposed to refill it. He added the $16 back in out of Unallocated, but then noticed that the $16 that had been removed was dated for next month, which made sense, so he wanted to undo his error. Trouble was, for some odd reason, the $16 he tried to add to that particular envelope is showing up on each and every envelope I click on as "Groceries". Here's a bizarre example. In the envelope we've labeled "Loans", it shows two transactions; one for $100 and one for $916. Then underneath those two, it says, "Groceries", and right underneath "Groceries", like a sub-category, it says, "Loans". To the right of that are the two transactions added up, so it looks something like this: Transaction #1, $100. Transaction #2, $916 = Groceries (Loans) $1,016. It's the same thing with each and every envelope.

What the heck? We're so confused!

Hi M & N,

It sounds like your husband my have created a Fill from Unallocated, and accidentally filled all of your Envelopes, rather than just the empty one. However, it's hard to say for sure without seeing your Household.

Feel free to send us an email to support@goodbudget.com with your Household username so we can take a closer look.

Thanks!
