Support calculations in the Amount field of the Add Transaction window

It would be very helpful if the web client allowed calculations to be entered in the amount field. When entering a split transaction from a receipt, I often have to add several values and/or calculate sales tax. I have to do this with a calculator and then copy the value to the split amount field. I would love to just enter something like this: (12.45+3.49+1.98)*1.06+(11.99+2.99) to add three items, calculate sales tax on them and add two more tax free items. This should give a value of 33.98 using rounding to the nearest penny. As a programmer, I know this is a lot harder than it appears. But perhaps you could use a library such as https://github.com/josdejong/mathjs to make the task much easier.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for sharing your feature request with us. It sounds like you'd like to see a built-in calculator for when you enter numbers in the Amount field, or otherwise be able to enter calculations / formulas into that field and have it automatically calculate the relevant sum.

There actually is an optional calculator that shows when adding Amounts through the Goodbudget Android app, but this functionality does not currently exist on the Web app or the iPhone app. I've added your request to our features tracker for future consideration.

Thanks again!
