Kudos!  I don't know when this ability was actually added to the Android app, but I was surprised, just recently, when I noticed the Android app allows one to directly transfer amounts to and from unallocated!  That helps so much not to be forced to do it creatively.  Many would not be able to figure that out.  The process is much easier using the Android app now.  Cheers!                                                                                    Now, I'm just waiting for the account total on the Android app to fairly equal the displayed total on the webpage.  The webpage counts unallocated in its account total, as it should, but the Android app does not... rendering different totals, which makes it confusing to users.  I am mentioning this again because the amount in unallocated may not actually be assigned to an envelope, but it indeed should be registered as assigned to an account because it already is.  The Android app, on its opening screen, confusingly does not show the unallocated amount as actually being part of an account, at all.  Unallocated is left in limbo to confuse the user about what account it is actually deposited into.

Hi John,

Thanks for posting! I'm glad to hear you like the option to transfer to and from Unallocated! I agree it is handy.

To your next point, when you say your account total in the Android app doesn't match the account total on the web, I think you're referring to your All Envelopes total balance. Is that right? If I remember correctly, you don't use the Accounts feature.

You're right that, on the website, the Envelopes total includes the balance in Unallocated. However, for both the iPhone and Android apps, the Envelopes total does not include Unallocated's balance. We're not working on changing that at the moment, but your feedback in on our tracker.

Thanks again

Thank you.

I just wanted to remind you that this long-time discrepancy between the website and the mobile versions of Goodbudget is continuing to confuse users and that I am continuing to do my part by repeatedly informally posting personally about this particular long-term discrepancy for the benefit of those users who continue to be confused by it.

The major problem about this particular long-term discrepancy is that it has not yet been given a high enough priority to promote the action necessary to fix it.

Thanks again for all you guys and gals do, Karisa.  We appreciate your collective dedication and hard work!  It definitely shows!  In all other aspects of supporting the users, you guys and gals continue to rock!  :-)

Kudos and Cheers,

John Vander Stel

Hi John,

Thanks for your reply! I definitely can hear you're frustrated about this. We always appreciate you letting us know what's working for you, and what's not.

I do agree that this can be confusing for folks, and that it's helpful to be consistent across platforms, and so that could be a good reason to pursue this in the future.

However, right now, we aren't moving forward with a fix for this because we haven't heard many folks chime in on this yet. At this time, we're still focusing our development efforts and working out some big kinks in the new Debt feature.

Hope this makes sense!
