I am not able to transfer between envelopes on the app.

I can't either on the android app, I have to access Goodbudget through my phone's web browser in order to access the transfer feature.  The only transaction ability you have on the android app is to add an expense or credit.  When you use Goodbudget through the website there are additional features available.  Select Add Transaction through the website and you'll see tabs: Expense/Credit, Transfer, Income, Debt Transaction.  If you select the Transfer tab there you'll have the ability to transfer between envelopes or accounts.

I'm pretty discouraged that basic features on the website are missing from the app.

Hi Wayne,

You should be able to add Envelope Transfers on the Android app by going to the overflow menu (the three dots in the upper right) and tapping "Envelope Transfer". The same is true for Account Transfers on the Accounts tab. Additionally, Incomes and Fills can be added by tapping the Envelope Fill icon in the upper-right of the app.

The only transaction types that currently cannot be added on the mobile apps are Debt Payment Transaction and New Fee/Interest/Charge transactions.

Thank you Alex, that helps a lot!!  The account transfer on the web has a Note field, but the app does not.  How can I see this note field on the app if I created the transfer on the web and add text to this field?

I responded to your email about this earlier, but currently it's not possible to view or create Notes on Transfer transactions in the Android app. Your vote for this feature is in our tracker for future consideration though!

Sorry for the troubles! Would you clarify whether you're simply unable to find the option to do an Envelope Transfer or if the app is preventing you from completing a Transfer?

If you're unable to find it, you can create an Envelope Transfer on the iPhone app by tapping the Add Transaction button and changing the "Type" of the transaction to Envelope Transfer. On the Android app, go to the overflow menu (the three dots in the upper right) from the Envelopes tab and tap "Envelope Transfer".

If you're unable to add the Transfer for some reason, please send us a screenshot of the error to support@goodbudget.com and we'll do our best to give you specific support.
