What ARE you working on? New release any time soon?

We've used EEBA/Good Budget every single day for over 4.5 years now and it is a great product.  We recommend it as few software packages are 'envelope' centered.  And really Quicken, Mint doesn't even have a way to reconcile your bank statements!  Really, from a accounting software company?  But I digress.

Several needs have been posted here, though, for years

Allowing you to start over in the reconciliation by unchecking/checking all boxes.
Merging envelopes
EDITING THE PAYEE LIST

Just to name a few.  Really guys, love this program, but it doesn't seem like anyone is actually working on it any more :(

[Just FYI, Windows Phone user, so I don't care about the IOS/Android apps.  And you dropped the mobile web support, so.....]

Hopefully,
Sandra

Got an email from Karissa (separate issue) with a like to their 'Roadmap'.
This feature sounds interesting:
Individual Envelope Periods: Have some weekly Envelopes, others that are monthly, etc
Really need some basic fixes though....

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for being an EEBA/Goodbudgeter for all of these years! That's a huge compliment. I'm sorry you feel we aren't continuing to develop the app that you've come to rely on and trust! Our goal has always been to serve folks like you well, with integrity.

We are small team of people. Because of that, we must prioritize features and requests. Often times, we prioritize the features that folks request most frequently, or features that affect the most people. I hope that makes sense. But, we are always working to make Goodbudget better. Most recently, we've released our web multi-periods feature. Now, we're designing scheduled transactions for the Android app.

Like I mentioned to you in another post, you're welcome to check out our Roadmap (https://goodbudget.com/roadmap/). This list our upcoming projects. Or, check out our Changelog (https://goodbudget.com/2011/05/changelog-release-notes/), which lists out all of the releases since EEBA/Goodbudget started back in 2010.

Again, we appreciate your feedback and requests, as they help us know what to work on next. So, thank you!

I do hope this helps, and please let us know if you have more questions.

I tried Goodbudget and there is a LOT to like about it. But there is some basic work that needs doing on existing functionality that is historic. Time should be taken to put these right, it is not just a case of rushing forward into new things, although we all like new stuff. Please do find the time to fix things like collapsing groups and having them stay collapsed; the responsiveness of the application (it does not always refresh); archiving and the ability to hide archived folders. There are others.

Hi Colin,

Good to hear from you! Thanks again for your feedback. I can understand there are things that need to be changed in order to make Goodbudget work for you.

While we always add feedback and requests to our features tracker, we can't promise that we will add everything to the app/web. Yet, we do promise that we will continue to do our best to add the features that are most requested/affect the most people, and to make improvements.

We're grateful for your patience, and are excited to release features and improvements as they come.

Thanks, again.

Thanks Karisa, but I am not really talking about additions - I am talking about getting what is there now running smoothly, fine tuning the product. Surely there must come a time when the devs sit back and take stock of where some "polish" is required?

It is a great product that just requires a small amount of that polish. here is so much of it that I love.

Hi Colin,

I see! There are times when we specially work on polishing/updating something. If you take a look at our Changelog (https://goodbudget.com/2011/05/changelog-release-notes/), you'll notice many of the items that say 'Added' are instances of us going back and improving something.

I think your idea of having an Envelope group staying collapsed on the web might be considered a polish. Right?

However, an archiving and / or hiding Envelopes and Accounts would be a completely new feature.

Thanks again!
