Product rating or company rating?

Love the site! But are you rating products or companies? The products I reviewed had identical ratings across the board. It seemed the products themselves were not reviewed, but the companies. Would like to see more detail on environmental impact of certain products (ie. packaging, chemicals, etc.) over others within the same company.

  • For most categories, we use product-level data for health scores and company-level scores for environment and social. We also have product-level environmental scores in those few categories where data are available (cell phones, bulk coffee and tea, chocolate). See http://www.goodguide.com/about/method... for an explanation of how we combine product and company data. We too would like to see more detail on product-level environmental impacts, but manufacturers typically do not make any of this kind of data public.
