Google Talk SMS denied issue

  • Problem
  • Updated 3 years ago
I sent the maximum (three) SMS messages to a friends phone number. She deleted the messages without replying, but would like to allow me to contact her via SMS from inside Google Chat / Gmail. How can we do this if the original messages were deleted?

A dozen or so users have posted having this issue and trying to get help in this thread : Google Help > Gmail > Discussions > Contacts and Chat > SMS Issue - http://www.google.com/support/forum/p...

I'm tired of nobody from google positng in this topic! Please help us.

I recently ran into this issue when I attempted to respond to a SMS I had sent myself from GMail and received the dreaded "No one uses this service number" error from Google, thus making the required reply impossible. I was able to resolve it by sending a SMS to a different phone, making note of the number it was delivered from, and then texting UNBLOCK to that number from my own phone. Confirmation was sent by Google via SMS shortly thereafter and I haven't had any problems since.

That being said, I know this has been an ongoing and frustrating problem for many people (as a simple Google search will show), and is something that the SMS Team should seriously consider developing a better solution or workaround for.
