Compared with Reliant Energy

I'm currently a Reliant customer, but the Oncor Electric Delivery Charge for a 2029 kWh month is $57.68.
The Out Cycle Mtr Rdg Regular Hour is $1.90.
The Gross Receipts Tax Reimbursement is $1.49.
The Sales Tax 2.00% is $2.77.
Altogether, the fees are 45% of my bill.
For the same 2029 kWh, what would the charges be with Green Mountain Energy?

  • It's great to hear that you're considering joining Green Mountain! Our plans are 100% pollution free, and our customers are truly helping to change the way power is made just by flipping the switch.

The best place to see our current rates is to visit the 'Products and Rates' page of our website at:

Just type in your address, and it will show the different plans available to you.

Many companies charge additional delivery charges apart from the electricity rate that is charged for your usage. Green Mountain includes the delivery charges from the lines and meters company in our total rate. The taxes are typically separated out, however, so you would continue to see separate line items for these charges.

The amount you pay would depend on the rate plan that you choose. For example, if you select the Smart 6 plan in the Oncor territory on our website, it is at 8.14 cents/kWh, plus a $5.95 monthly base charge and $2.19 for the Advanced Metering Surcharge. Multiplying .0814 x 2029 equals $165.16. Adding $5.95, $2.19, and the additional taxes you cited would arrive at $179.46. Of course, this is just an example. If you would like to discuss the different plans or the switch process, you may also give us a call at 866-473-3689 Monday - Friday, 8 am - 8 pm and Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm.
