You simply need to invite members to begin following your group's Twitter account. Make sure to follow those members back so that they can broadcast messages to the group.

Your answer assumes way too much! we need details and specifics on how to invite members, how to follow back, etc.

Jim, I suggest you start here if you need more information on how "following" works: http://help.twitter.com/forums/10711/...

I think I may have started this question, way back when. Looking back, I think part of the problem may have been a known Twitter bug with some accounts not showing up in people search. Grouptweet is working great for me now.

You ask the person to follow the Twitter account that you created for your group.

Let me take a whack at this. You don't 'join' Grouptweet so much as you configure a newly-created Twitter account to function _as_ your Grouptweet account. People in your group would then follow that newly-created account. Then you (assuming you are the one setting this up) would log in as the Grouptweet-associated Twitter account and follow the people back. Then all of those people can send DMs to the new account, and Grouptweet will be functioning as advertised!

Steps

1) Create a new Twitter account for your Group
2) Activate the group with Grouptweet.com
3) Make sure the group account is following all members and that all members are following the group account.
4) Instruct group members to send Direct Messages to the group account.
5) Enjoy group functionality on Twitter!
