What is the best way to track a private GroupTweet feed?

So, is it possible to use *private* GroupTweet with tools like HootSuite or Seesmic? If I protect the tweets from my GroupTweet account, there is no way to track the GroupTweet discussion in a stream or such, right?

I guess my question is this: What is the best way to segregate my GroupTweet stream from the Twitter basic feed so I can track it during the day? I can't spend time digging it out of the Twitter river.

Randy, good question. You can definitely accomplish this through Tweetdeck and Hootsuite. I imagine easily through Seesmic as well.

The answer lies through Twitter's list function.

You just need to create a PRIVATE list which will most likely contain only your GroupTweet account. You will likely create this list under your personal Twitter account. With Tweetdeck, you can create your new list directly within TD, and add as many different accounts to the list as you want.

With Hootsuite, it appears best to create the list at Twitter.com, and then simply "Add Stream" and click the "List" tab.

Bottom line, once you make a list containing the specific accounts you want to segregate out of your Twitter stream, you can easily add that as a column in Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, etc.

Make sense? Let me know if this doesn't help!
