I like how it now asks you to slide instead of tap to cancel the alert. I can see how that would prevent accidental, and potentially costly mistakes.
However, the app lags like a mother when it starts from GPS and all that I guess, but this can cause it to be nearly at the end of the timer before it will even recognize a swipe gesture!
I was swiping away frantically until it went away so that I didn't send out a false alarm.
I like the feature, but a performance enhancement would really be great.
Perhaps saving the GPS loading and all that until AFTER the timer runs out. Those few seconds it takes will not make a difference in help coming for you, but could potentially prevent a few false alarms!

What you have observed isn't lag due to retrieving your location. The touch zone of the slider is a little sensitive. To ensure you get it the first time tap on the slider then swipe. We are working to make it more robust similar to the iPhone slide to unlock.
