We are trying to implement the tool within our organisation. Major resistance is to type the parameters and values again in the tool. Is there any provision to import the values from excel, or any other method ?

Yes. We have a basic "import from Excel" feature already. We will improve it by making it more robust and easy to use across multiple versions of Excel and other similar programs in the months to come. To use the basic import from Excel feature that we have now, please use the following steps:

1) Click on "Create New Test Plan" (in the far upper left hand corner of your screen)

2) You will see a pop up menu (allowing you to give your new plan a name, etc.). The bottom selection is "Optional import file." That is what you will want to select. The first time you use this feature, it might be easiest if you:

A) Click on "What kind of file?"

B) Look at the sample file (where the parameter names are, where the values are, what kind of specific Excel format it is saved in, etc.)

C) Cut and paste your Excel data into the template plan that is provided (replacing the sample content with your content but being sure to keep your new data arranged in the same way that the sample template arranged the data) and being sure to also save the file in the same Excel format "Excel 2004 XML Spreadsheet").

These two images might help clarify the above points:

I hope this answers your question.

By the way, I'm glad that you're trying to promote broader adoption of Hexawise within your organization. I'll try to contact you in January when I'm back in the office to discuss methods that have worked well in other firms. Until then, you might be interested in this case study showing how Hexawise adoption was promoted (and how resistance was overcome) at a large, global IT consulting firm:
