New to the website, can't seem to upload a photo/record (IT'S DEFINITELY A JPEG)...it says something about an IO error....hope this isn't anything to do with my location (United Kingdom). I'll try again tomorrow.

Suzie, try a different browser. Especially if you're using Chrome.

Managed to upload the images by making them icons on blank text records. Not ideal but it worked, although now I have two blank text records I can't delete. sigh.

Changing browser worked for me! I think the problem comes when you try to upload an image using Chrome.

Some articles here suggest that the files will not work if the extension is in upper case, if you have that, try renaming the files to *.jpg in lower case.

I previously had no problem uploading photos with the extension in upper case. Not having much luck again today with this.

Well, we are all just guessing here, since there is nobody from the site staff here.

Maybe something was changed on the site that broke uploading files with uppercase filenames, I'm not sure.

What error message are you getting when you upload file that is just called image.jpg ?

It says 'your file must end with .jpg, .jpeg, .gif or .png'

ok, if it works now, great.

What was it you had to change to make it work? (just for the benefit of the next person with a similar problem)

I'm not sure what worked, because I just had a problem uploading another photo, but it worked on the second attempt. Hmmm.

Anyway, Alexander, thank you for your help. Now returning to the offline world.

Hm, the only way I currently get the error "your file must end " is if I rename a jpg to .JPG, if your file is called .jpg there may be something else wrong.

I assume the error happens before the progress bar shows up that goes from 0 - 100% ?

If the file otherwise broken or not really a valid jpeg, the error would appear after uploading I assume, I tried to update a binary file renamed to *.jpg and the worked at least to the 100% mark.

Can you maybe upload one example file to dropbox and send me a shared link for it? alexlehm*at*gmail.com

edit: ignore this if it is working now :-)
