Could you set the number of items in the rss feed a bit higher. The current limit is impacting on my plans for world domination.

Hi Colin,

Did you read my reply to your last query? http://getsatisfaction.com/huffduffer...

Rather than relying on one single, long feed, remember that each tag has its own discrete feed.

Let me know what it is you're trying to do exactly: I don't want to increase the file size of everyone's feeds unless there's a good use case for it.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Jeremy,

First - thanks for the great and useful tool! Now for the criticism. ;)

I don't see how what you propose is a good solution. I'm still trying out your recommended workflow, but I see a few problems with it:

  • Say I have a big series of 15 items I've Huffduffed, so I tag them all the same and subscribe to my separate subscription for that tag. Well, I still have my simple, uncategorized subscription for miscellaneous stuff, so that series of 15 will show up in both the "all" list and the tag list.

  • Along a similar line, are we suppose to create a lot of discrete tag subscriptions to cure this?

  • I would prefer just to keep things simple and subscribe to one big list instead of fiddling with tags and maintaining multiple subscriptions.

  • Huffduffed items are auto tagged by the community, so when I look at my items and "my" tags, I see a bunch of mysterious tags, so picking out one and keeping a clear conception of it in my mind to create a separate feed for seems a little strange.

Thanks,
Derek

How about adding a optional GET parameter to the feed URL, something like ?items=[NUM], where NUM is the number of items (and ALL would give a full list). This way, the default size for most users is untouched while power users can have longer feeds with more items to chose from.

I'd love this – I just switched to Instacast on my iPhone from the Podcasts app and now don't have the ability to pull down older episodes that I know I've not yet listened to.

I'm trying to generate podcast reading lists for students. But some topics have more than 20 items. If it can't be done in a single click I know the students won't listen to all of them.
