It seems that "Arrow" will end in 2020, as upcoming eighth season was recently announced to be the last one and shorter then previous ones, ending at just ten episodes. Should end year already be instated on the series page?
I mean, there is always a faint possibility that the series will continue in some form or revived after a few years, but the end year seem to be easily removed if needed, as seen with "The X-Files"...

The information Adrian provided is correct, if an end-date is reported for a series, we prefer to wait until the last episode airs before adding the end year. Cheers!

Yes, although it may have been confirmed as ending, it is misleading for users as the date of the final episode hasn't passed yet. Once the final episode has aired the series end year should be added. I've removed the Big Bang Theory end year now.

I think (and hope!) you underestimate your users. I sure hope they understand that 2019 still has nine months of time to air episodes of a show that has an end year of 2019.
Apart from that, not having an end year listed, suggests it isn't known yet in what year a show will end.

An IMDb user should never be underestimated, however in certain circumstances this end year could be for a future year - 2020 for example, which doesn't look great on the site. We would prefer to only add the end year on the conclusion of the final episode.

I also don't understand why a future year would be problematic to have listed. Of course, it's your database and you can make the rules, but I really don't understand the reasoning behind this rule.

Joel has already fixed this problem. I just found it interesting that an example to the contrary popped up just a few days after this query.

Someone had pre-populated Arrow with 22 episodes and I had to have it pruned to 10. At this point, is hard to tell how things will go.
