"Behind the Scenes Editor"" is considered an Editor credit?

Stéphane Garnier https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5658231/  has 21 credits as a behind the scenes editor and all 21 of them have been categorised as being the function of an Editor and are not listed in the Editorial Department.  Is this correct?

I saw the film "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" and Mr. Garnier was indeed credited as a behind the scenes editor and someone else was credited as the main editor.  I was going to delete the Editor credit and switch it to the Editorial Department.  However, I clicked on his name and saw that IMDb decided to place *all* of his behind the scenes credits in the Editor section so I did not make any correction.  Should his credits be left alone?

Personally I’m not sure what ”behind the scenes” editor means, so we should clarify first the meaning of the occupation.

If it means ”making of” type of featurettes or documentaries, then it should be listed to Editorial department. If it’s additional/assistant editor or something like that, I believe it still should be added to Editorial.

In this case it is easy to confirm what it means as the editor's own website refers to "making of" credits including Valerian.

To my knowledge then these all should be moved to ”Editorial department”.

Except when the making-of has its own entry in IMDb, I guess. I remember running into several such entries.

Hi Brett,

Yes Eboy is correct. These should be moved to editorial, except, as Vincent states, if it is the title for the "making of" itself.

I hope this helps.

Will
