Box office is used by the Hollywood movie industry
Not something IMDb can do any thing about
compare ticket sales of one movie to others could be helpful also
oh, and the price of tickets goes up each year (?)
so We can not compare new movies income to movies of years ago

wikipedia has some interesting pages about this
but IMDb does not like wiki links posted
