"Jeopardy!" credit problems

I have a few issues relating to the TV series "Jeopardy!" that I want to raise:

1. This problem is with the IMDb software. One recent episode included archive footage of politician Joseph McCarthy (II) who died in 1957. When I submitted his name to the Cast of the episode, with an (archive footage) attribute, I got a yellow (bypassable) warning that said:
'McCarthy, Joseph (II)' has a long gap in their career.
This person last worked in this category in 1953 which is 10+ years away from 2016. Are you certain this is the same person? If this is a different person please use roman numerals to distinguish them.
While McCarthy's last Self credit was in 1953, he has dozens of Archive Footage credits since then, some as recently as this year. The "long gap in their career" warning should be suppressed whenever an (archive footage) credit is being submitted. For that matter, in the same episode, there was also archive footage of two other long-dead persons, Jimmy Hoffa and Indira Gandhi, but I didn't get a "long gap" warning for either of them.

2. This next problem was caused by a contributor. Someone recently submitted Michele Loud to the cast of two recent episodes with the attribute (editorial supervisor). Loud did not appear in either episode by face or voice; she was credited in the episodes as an editorial supervisor (and has been listed in IMDb as such), but that's not a cast role. For some reason this unusual attribute for a cast member of (editorial supervisor) has not been flagged as an error, but it should be.

3. In the thread at https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/stage-manager-listed-as-director, I raised a problem that someone was submitting the person credited as stage manager to the Directors section, even though someone else is credited as the director. As Michelle responded, the job of stage manager belongs in the Miscellaneous Crew, not the Directors section, yet someone has continued to submit the stage manager in the wrong section since then.

Thanks for raising these.  We now have three tickets open to investigate (which might make the tracking on this thread tricky, sorry).

Hi gromit82,

Thanks for bringing these issues to our attention. In reference to point 2 this was a mistake by one of our data editors when splitting credits in our internal systems that were originally submitted incorrectly in one list by a contributor.

Apologies for the error and thanks again for highlighting.

Regards,
Will

I've also responded to point 3 on the other thread.

Thanks,
