Music videos constitute a special type of content. An artist is playing a character in a music video as they are performing, that's why IMDb lists them as characters instead of himself/herself.
It would be logically reasonable, if "music-video" serves as a special keyword:

- to switch the possible "self" instances to artist names (similar to "reenactment" effect);
- to separate truly music videos from other types of content where music videos or their small parts may be included occasionally, while they are insignificant in volume and context there but result in confusion when searching titles.
