(Note: For those who may not know, what applies to title reference view also applies to title combined view.)
For some titles, the Production Notes section of the reference view page shows inaccurate or out-of-date information regardless of how the page is updated in ordinary contributors' submission interface; but for others, it will successfully be updated. In either case, this seems to pertain mostly to titles released within the past two years, or perhaps titles that were added to the database catalog within the last two years.
I know that reference view is treated as obsolete by IMDb web developers and thereby not really maintained (i.e. all but abandoned), but this still seems strange. What is going on here? Is it a glitch? Is the situation simply that it takes six months for the reference view rendition page of a new title entry to become go-live-able?

On the old Contributors Help board, IMDb staff member nicb2011 surveyed us about our thoughts on reference view, and somewhere along the line, nicb mentioned that a new system that mimics the appearance (possibly functionality as well) of the old system was being considered by the web staff. I hope this winds up being the case.
I may have some other questions about the blended design of the IMDb web presentation overall. Currently, as near as I can tell, for every title entry (2001, for example), the pages user ratings, synopsis, FAQ, box office / business, literature, news and recommendations are part of the same old software platform as sections reference view and combined view; along with the news page of every person entry (Kubrick, for example), and every page of every character entry (HAL, for example) except for the character photo gallery. I wonder what the ramifications of upgrading the underlying modules are. I understand that the recommendations page has long seen a replacement via the "People who liked this also liked" section of the standard view, but it still contains different information from the content of the recommendations page, which causes me to want both; plus, the old way presents the top ten recommendations (including their showtimes) in a straightforward list with no need for endlessly scrolling through titles.
