Why can't I register my son? Good morning. This is the first day that I register here. Though I cannot seem to register my son on here . I have double checked everything and nothing. I keep getting "We're sorry, you do not meet the requirements to create an account on IMDb." i got that too when I tried registering, but then I used my Amazon acct and I was let in. What am I doing wrong? Thank you

One possibility is that IMDb does not allow users under the age of 13 to create accounts.

I've only heard of that in reference to being under 13. I wondering if you tried clearing cookies before trying with new information?

That might be the reason then. so how do I register him, so that they can look for him?

Hi David Contreras,

I'm a little puzzled by your last statement. Are you trying to set up a user account for your son, who is under 13; or are you trying to create a name page with your son's credits?

Here is an example of profile page for a user account:

Here is an example of a name page:

You can't register him for a user account if he's under 13 years old. It's the policy.

If you're talking about a Name Page, which is a part of the database that lists peoples' film/TV credits, he can be listed two ways.

1. Go to the page for a show or film in which his name has appeared in the credits and add his credit to the page for that show. If he doesn't yet have a Name Page in his name, one gets created automatically.

2. Create a User Account with your information, subscribe to IMDbPro, and create a page in his name.

In either case, at this point, he'd have to have had his name appear in the on screen credits for him to qualify for an automatic page and to be credited at least one time before an IMDbPro enhanced account can create a page with uncredited work.

Is this what you mean?

The Privacy Notice page states:

Children

IMDb is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, you may not submit information about yourself to IMDb.

As to adding information to the database, see:

bluesmanSF, I remember the crew videotaping my son said that, as soon as i created a page for him, that his credits would automatically fill in, yet I read that you have to show  a credits page in order to start a page. I'm  confused even more now.

You show an image of the credits from the film as proof to submit in adding him to the film. Once a person has a film credit than a page is created automatically for that name.

Or you make a page without credits through IMDBpro.

The crew was smoking something...

No..nothing happens automatically. You can either create a Name Page via IMDbPro then add the name as it appears on IMDb to the credits for the title and it'll be added to both the title and name page. Or, you can simply add his name as it appears in the credits (plus a Roman numeral if there are other people listed by the same exact name) and if no page exists, use the option to create a new page in that name.

It's an either/or (create the name page first-which is not necessary, but can be done-or add the name and if a page does not exists, one will be made by staff, to which the credit will be added).

There's two seperate things here, a user account and a name page.

A user account is "you", it's what you log in with, it's what you control and edit parts of the site with.

A name page is "about someone", in this case you want it to be about your son.

You can have as many user accounts as you want (for whatever reasons); but each user account may only claim one name page. So for example if you wanted a name page for you (with credits) you would need a user account that controls that name page and another user account that controls your sons name page (since he isn't old enough to have his own user account)

Doesn't matter how many user accounts you make, they will always be "you", it's just your way of logging in and controlling things. Name pages are unique, they are to be filled with information and credits "about" a specific actor/producer/whatever.

Most basic procedural questions can be found in the help FAQ:
http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?resumenamepagediff

But if you have specific questions not answered there, feel free to ask here but give as much detail as you can so someone can try to find the answer for you.

I've filled everything out, applied for a few roles and nothing. No roles really come up here. I don't think anyone even visits my page. I can't seem how it's advantageous to have it. Maybe someone can enlighten me.Thank you

It appears you may be confusing the roles of the various pages.
No roles really come up here. I don't think anyone even visits my page. I can't seem how it's advantageous to have it.
I assume that by "my page" you mean your User Profile. The URL for this page will have the string /user/ur in it. The User Profile (or Account) performs much the same function for IMDb as your GetSatisfaction Profile performs for this site. It allows you to log in to IMDb and set preferences as to how iMDb will show the data to you.

Your page is not intended to show credits. This is done by a Name Page, like the one that is now set up for your son, Diego Contreras. (I have linked the base version of his page as that is the one that most users will see. The one you linked, the Pro version, can only be seen by those Users who have paid for a Pro Account.)

User Profiles are not intended to contain credits, and since they are not searchable on the site it is unlikely that they will be visited by other users. The main exception to this last is if you post on the IMDb message boards, in which case the Profile will be linked to the User ID shown on the post. It is also used by IMDb to reply to private questions sent to the Help Desk.

Apparently you created a User account, then upgraded it to a Pro Account. You then set up a Resume Subscription for your son's page and used that to upload some photos and create the separate personal Resume page.

The Resume subscription is linked to the Pro Account. Your account can only maintain the subscription for your son's page, and the subscription (i.e. the photos and Resume page) may only be maintained by your Pro Account. Note that since this is a subscription, if you cancel your Pro account or allow it to lapse, the photos and Resume page will be removed from the display pages once the paid period has expired.

Anyways, here's my son's page. https://pro-labs.imdb.com/name/nm7574797?ref_=_nv_usr_prof . Is there anything anyone sees that I need to correct or fix, etc?
You have not added any personal data to the Name page. You should check the default view of his Name page at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm7574797/ as this shows what is actually on the database, as opposed to what is on the separate Resume page.

You should add some of his personal data, such as Height, in the Biography section of the Name page. You should also add a Mini-Biography. You start the process by clicking on the Edit Page button near the bottom of his Name page

The Contributors Help page contains a lot of helpful information, including a quick link to the Data Submission Guides. I would recommend you read the appropriate ones before trying to submit to a section, so you will be submitting according to the IMDb requirements. In particular I strongly suggest you read the Mini-Biographies Section of the Submission Guides: Biographical Information before writing a Mini-bio.

One caveat: Before you submit data such as Birthdate, be sure you wish it to be publicly visible, because once it is on the page IMDb is very unlikely to remove it. They will correct invalid data, but had a strong antipathy to deleting accurate information.

Perhaps he means that, via Pro, they responded to casting notices and not been hired?
